Herbs and spices can be relatively inexpensive when purchased in larger containers rather than as premium brands like McCormick or Shilling. Such can also be very helpful in cooking, especially if you know what to do with them, because they will make bland rice, potatoes and other ingredients taste better or more interesting. This might not be something you've thought about in piecing together your food storage. This is only an example of something you might do.
These will be stored in sealed, 2-gallon buckets. The buckets will be filled with the spices plus chips of dry ice. Once it's observed that the dry ice has largely sublimated, but before the Co2 disperses (guessed), the lids will be put in place and sealed. The bucket contents will be listed on the outside.
