Powder Reference Chart
Grains of Charge to Pounds of Powder

How many rounds can you get out of one pound of powder? One pound of power weighs 7,000 grains. This table is approximative and should not be construed as advice on how many rounds can actually be loaded from one pound of powder. This said, for example, one might reload .45 ACP with a charge of 4.5 grains using a 200-grain ball and get about 1555 rounds out of the process. This is what the table is for: help you guess how much to buy.

Charge: weight of powder in grains to be poured into casing.

Rounds: approximate number of finished, loaded rounds assuming one pound of powder.
