Giverny: Les jardins de Claude Monet

It was a sunny Monday when we arrived near the end of the day to see Claude Monet's gardens at Giverny. They are closed on Mondays, so we overnighted in Les Andelys. Tuesday morning, it was raining cats and dogs, but the gardens were beautiful anyway. The gardens are in two parts: the large garden in front of the house plus the lily pond across the road. In Monet's day, a railroad separated the two, but now there is a highway. These pictures were taken in May 1999.
